    October (Part 2)

What's not pumpkin spice could be a fun conversation to have. And don't say toilet paper because I did a double take when I saw it at Target. My girlfriend Tyler has her first pumpkin spice latte of the season with the same friend every year, it's a fall tradition. So there they were in 94 degree Orlando heat sipping a 106 degree drink, I'm not sure that's worth the extra sweat it caused, but they looked happy in the Insta picture and isn't that the trick. Look happy and say something catchy. if you tweet you'll have a little more space to creatively describe that sweaty pumpkiny goodness soon with more characters coming. Is there something wrong with the iced version of this drink? There's a pumpkin spice latte ice cream so if you can't find it iced just go to your freezer section, by a carton and defrost it in your microwave. My family thinks I'm so weird for softening ice cream this way but I'm the mom and I bought the ice cream and I'll just stop right there. All joking aside the sugar content in this drink would force my diabetic daughter to give herself enough insulin for a meal so think about that my Whole 30 friends! And thank you to the makers of just plain ole pumpkin spice coffee with no fillers or sugars or reasons to not drink it. From my perspective no one ever needs a reasonto not drink any kind of coffee and if you'd like a slice of some pumpkin bread that does not coast two dolars a slice at said favorite coffee show you canmake it yourself so easily. Just get one can of pumpkin and mix that into a box spice cake mix and bake according to the box directions. Slice it up, pack it up, sprinkle it with a little powered sugar if you have it and enjoy. #Yourwelcome

At the beginning of every month I write all the words I can think of that describe the season on a white board in the on air studio. These words can jog your memory for a on-air break or for a story and can plant you directly into the place your listener is right ...

    Firsts

I loved Sarah Jessica Parkers's annual first day of school photos on Instagram. Her twin daughters wore sweet simple flow-y dresses, not designer, and from the post it appears that the twins will not be in the same school this year. "Loretta Sends Tabitha on Her Way." ...

    Feed

Back to school always evokes a myriad of memories. Lunch boxes were the thing when I was in elementary school; every year's pick set the tone for the one time during the day we could be unabashedly social: lunchtime. The Flying Nun, Mystery Date, The Partridge Family ...

    Rain Poncho

My daughters and I always seem to find ourselves caught in a thunderstorm every time we hike the great Smoky Mountains. It's frustrating because we check the weather report prior to our hike, and we still end up wishing we had packed our rain ponchos, even though we ...

    Balance

Getting perspective and understanding where our demo is seasonally, where she is coming from, and what she's doing builds relationship. I read many mom blogs, and many of my friends are, of course, moms. To pin point one type of mom to talk to is crazy, there are so ...

    Summer Mom

Social connection can really spin a mom's emotions into a ball of coconut oil scented sweat. Really, a woman can go through an entire carton of Halo Top Ice Cream after feeling eaten up by some of her friend's texts. Right now, that Halo Top is in my view as I scan a ...
